So this is the post from last mouth for any of you who am have missed it.
"It's address collection time! Both email and snail mail please. I have a special party coming up that I would like to send out info for. (Yes, I have addresses for some of you, but it's easier to put out a blanket request.)
For all of you local people, and non-locals who think I should have the information anyway, please respond below with your full name and your address. If you live with a significant other, please include their name. If you know (or think) that you might be moving within the next few months, please note that as well. Granted, I'm not going to be able to invite everyone to the party, but it will be good to have addresses on hand for other things!"
All posts are screened.

This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
I make no guarantees that you will like what I make.
What I create will be just for you.
It'll be done this year (2009).
No requests-- it could be anything. It may be a mix CD. It may be a poem.
I may draw or paint something. I may craft you something.
I might bake you something and mail it to you. Who knows?
I reserve the right to do something extremely strange.
The catch is that if you don't re-post this offer, the bargain is void!
- Mood:creative
Tickets are already on sale through their website.
So come on!
Stolen from Gelfling
I'm not one that usually cries over things.
I usually keep a lot emotions inside, away from even my close friends and family. I never cried when my grandmother passed away years ago. It was more a surreal event for me since I never had a real close relation with her. Even at the funeral while my mother's family were open with grief I just sat there, staring at nothing, deep in my own thoughts.
When Colleen's mother died I wouldn't honestly feel anything like my sister's might of because I never knew her growing up. I was just a newborn when I did met her and it would be the only time I would have before we moved to Maryland.
Even with my relation with John was hard opening up to him at first. I've never been as open as I am with him with anyone else besides my blood family.
Back to when my grandmother passed away, I wondered if I would feel something when my grandfather finally passed. My relation with him was much more closer than with my grandmother, all of the grandchildren loved him. They both pushed all their grand kids to do something with their life, to learn and be something. A lot of the values I have now are from my grandparents. But he had this sense of humor also.
Growing up, I always loved Thanksgiving and Christmas, both were large events with my mother's family. We would always have at lease some prime rib at these dinners if my grandfather was there, he hated turkey. Even now when I think of holiday dinners it will always be that juicy pink slice of prime rib than some dry turkey drumstick for me. We would have dinner at my grandparents until our grandmother passed away, I'm beyond grateful that one year my birthday fell on thanksgiving after she passed that we had dinner there. It would be the last, after that we would have it at Susan's or Jamie's.
Before the change it was always the same, the grownup's usually upstairs, around the tv watching football, while me and my sisters and all our cousin's would usually be down in the basement in grandfather's office or playing pool in the game room after he got this huge pool table refurbished. I learned to play pool on that.
But then the house he, his wife and children completely gutted and remodeled began to get to big for him. He was too old to live by himself and finally had to start looking into a nursing home. This was crushing for me, I grew up in that house, I always dreamed of my house looking like theirs. Even if I would get sinus infections from their chimney when we visited.
All of this was just getting ready for his passing, and I knew then. When he finally joined his wife, it would hurt. I would join in with my family with grief, and remember all those good times growing up. I am so, so glad to know he didn't pass away from a sickness. This morning it was his time to go. Our grandfather lived a full life and I'm so blessed to have had him as a grandfather.
At some point I will stop crying, but it's because I miss him.

Which Major Arcana Tarot Card Are You? created with QuizFarm.com | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| You scored as III - The Empress The Empress is a maternal symbol. She is the mother figure who loves, nurtures and protects.
She will protect you, she will always be there when you are in trouble. When you fall over and graze your knee, the Empress will kiss it better.
Yet she is not a weak figure. Her compassion is strength. If her children are threatened she will stop at nothing to protect them. If well aspected in a Tarot spread, the Empress can symbolise security, protection and unconditional love. If badly aspected it can represent over-protectiveness, fear of risk taking and refusal to face the real world.

My Dear Winterfest Friends,
Here's a taste of what you have to look forward to at this year's Winterfest:
The acknowledgement of the the Seelie and Un Seelie Court in the honor of the Medieval Court of Mortals;
The melodious and mystical harp renderings of the quintessential stroker of strings, Lee Davenport;
The fancy footwork of Olde English Dance from Three Left Feet;
The rhythmic heartbeat of the Gypsy Nomads lead by the Pied Piper of Percussion Scott Helland;
The enchanting and sultry expression of the dance of the ages by Romka;
The musings of the cast of characters not to be limited to Wandering Gypsies (watch your purses),
Pirates out to plunder your salt shakers and shiver your timbers,
Jesters and Jolly folk to lighten your hearts and much, much more!!!
And rumor has it that the Un Seelie Court has come to turn over the keys to the season of Spring to the Seelie Court and have asked the Court of Mortals to witness the transition...but what is this...there is now speculation that the Unseelie's are really planning to show all present that they truly have control and are planning to hold Spring hostage for an additional 6 weeks? Could this be true? Will Mother Nature have to be called in to settle the dispute? Will champions be called upon to settle the score? Make sure you are there to cast your vote and take sides in this yearly struggle for control!
And as an added incentive, just because you are part of my e-mail list, an incentive to draw in your friends to the Merriment...
If you have already purchased tickets, or are about to, if you can put together a table of 8 persons united under your name you will receive:
Two Free Tickets to Round out you table of 10 !
So if you have already purchased two tickets, find three more couples or 6 more individuals, or any combination of any combination and fill your table. Please use the attached announcement and send it out to all your friends and invite them to join you in the welcoming in of the changing of the seasons!
Thank fully we have not had much other drama.
On a better note I have made my first new years resolution. It will be to star learning Irish Gaelic. I hoping to at lest understand and be able to speak some before next year.
P.S. Hoping to see most of you at the party on the 12th!
